Tut anch Aton

“Lebendes Abbild des Aton”, des Sonnengottes. So hiess der ägyptische Pharao, bevor er sich zu Tut anch Amun umbenannte, dem “Lebenden Abbild des Wind- und Fruchtbarkeitsgottes”. Die Wandlung der Bedeutung – eine der grossen Konstanten im Leben. Und mit der Wandlung der Bedeutung erfahren wir auch die Wandlung der Welt, wie wir sie wahrnehmen. So wird eine Schaufensterdekoration schon mal zu einem Einblick in ein ungeplündertes Pharaonengrab. Und so wird ein simpler spätabendlicher Spaziergang auch mal zu einem Kurztrip in die Geschichte und in fremde Länder. Alles was es braucht ist ein kurzes Stehen bleiben und die innere Freiheit, die sogenannte Realität für einen Moment sich wandeln zu lassen. Hier wandelte sich für mich eine Metall-Mobile (Windfahne, Tourbilon) in ein altägyptisches Prunkstück…
“Living image of Aton”, the sun god. That was the name of an Egyptian pharaoh, before he changed his name to Tutankhamon, the “living image of the wind and fertility God.” The conversion of meaning – one of the great constants in life. And with the change of meaning we experience the transformation of the world as we perceive it. That way a storefront decoration becomes a view into an undisturbed Pharaohs grave. And so might a simple late evening walk become a short trip into history and into distant countries. All it takes is to stop in our tracks and have the inner freedom to let the so-called “reality” be transformed for a moment. Here a kinetic installation (metal mobile, wind vane, Tourbilon) transformed into an ancient Egyptian piece.
